01 · The friction
The challenge
A headless commerce setup gives a team enormous freedom, and that was exactly the problem. Without a shared vocabulary of components, every new screen risked being built slightly differently, and the storefront was drifting toward inconsistency as it expanded.
The tension sat between flexibility and order. The product needed to keep moving quickly across many surfaces, but each ad-hoc decision made the whole experience harder to maintain and harder for shoppers to read with confidence.
02 · The architecture
The solution
The work centred on a modular component library: a set of well-defined building blocks with clear rules for how they compose. A deliberately brutalist visual language kept those parts honest — plain structure, strong edges, little decoration to hide behind — which made consistency easier to hold.
The React Native architecture was organised around the same components so behaviour stayed predictable across the experience. The result is a system a team can extend confidently, adding screens without reinventing the basics each time.
